To help give you a better idea we have broken Asheville down to five areas; central, north, south, east, west, so that we can share some of the highlights of the city and give you a quick glance at Asheville real estate. Hopefully this will help you determine what area you might prefer to live and purchase real estate in.
Real estate in south Asheville is some of the most sought out in western North Carolina. South Asheville Real estate offers condos, single family homes, and luxury homes for sale. Several of the prominent developments include: Biltmore Park, which is basically its own town complete with shops, dining, and a movie theater; The Cliffs at Walnut Cove with a full 18-hole golf course; and Avery Park with a beautiful pond, swimming pool, and tennis courts; the Arden-located Ashley Woods; and the beautiful Ramble at Biltmore Forest. Real estate in south Asheville and Arden has always been sought after due to its beauty, variety, and luxury.
Homes in South Asheville won’t be far from plentiful shopping and dining. Residents of Biltmore Park experience a town at the doorstep – with shops, restaurants, a gym and a movie theater only steps away – but other residents of South Asheville still have a plethora of recreation choices to pick from.
The south is gentler in topography than say the north and it is also, as with the north a very sought after area. South Asheville and Arden have more than enough shopping, restaurants and entertainment to keep you full and busy. Biltmore Park's town center is like an entire town by itself, with shopping, a brand new movie theater, restaurants, sporting and clothes shops, hotels, YMCA and much more (see videos below). Lake Julian is also in close proximity to Biltmore Park. Lake Julian is a 300 acre lake that backs up to Duke Energy power plant, plenty of recreation including picnicking, boating (non motorized) and fishing. South Asheville also has plenty of amenities, and is close proximity to the Asheville Regional Airport, Interstate, Biltmore Parks town center, Lake Julian, and of course you are only about 25 minutes to downtown Asheville. And no matter where you are in Asheville, there will always be able to find an entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway and of course the French Broad River is also close by offering outdoor entertainment for the whole family.
